A lighthouse that stands on top of a rocky promontory overlooking the Bay of Biscay. The views from the lighthouse are absolutely stunning, with sweeping views of the coastline and out to sea. The Cabo Peñas lighthouse is located on the most outgoing plateau of Cabo de Peñas, in the Gozón council, Asturias, 100 meters from sea level and about 60 meters from the cliff. It is one of the few lighthouses in Spain that still have a lighthouse keeper, a job on the verge of extinction by automating almost all the lighthouses in the world. The lighthouse has three rotating beacons that are used to detect ships and wind speed. The building is square with three heights.
