FR - The Returnees Memorial Caesar's propeller is a huge boat propeller with impressive measurements: 9 meters high and weighing 20 tonnes.
This boat propeller symbolizes the crossing of the Mediterranean that all French people from Algeria, the “Pieds Noirs”, had to make in 1962 to return to Marseille and/or France after Algeria’s declaration of independence.

The monument only has one propeller and not several as is generally the case for a boat propeller. A detail which is not accidental, but which represents the journey of no return made by the Pieds Noirs.
