The Château de Marines (private property) was built around 1560 by and for the architect Tiercelin de Brosse. Destroyed for the most part during the Second World War, Mr. André Joly, helped by his family and craftsmen from the Marines, restored this building to its former glory. The castle today consists of a central main building flanked by two massive pavilions, topped with high slate roofs.
