Guincho Beach, located on the Estoril coast in Portugal, is 5 km from Cascais. It is known for its surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing - largely due to the strong winds from the north in the summer and the bigger waves in the winter. There are several surf schools and camps in the area that offer rentals, repairs and lessons. The beach's location on the edge of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park has protected it from excessive tourist development, and wave and wind conditions make it less suitable for sunbathing and swimming, especially for families with young children.
