Mountain biking

Rudolf Freiherr von und zu Brenken, to whom a street nearby is dedicated, was born in 1848 at Erpernburg Castle in Westphalia. He served as a royal Prussian Uhlan officer until 1884 and in 1899 acquired the aforementioned castle, then called the castle. The father of three daughters died in 1915 and was buried in the park he had laid out. In 1983, Baron von Gescher had his grandfather's corpse transferred back to their ancestral home. The Brenken family stayed in Wernberg until 1918 and sold their property to Count Andreas Schall-Riaucour.
