The Allée des Beaux-Monts, five kilometers long and approximately 60 meters wide, connects the forest to the Château de Compiègne. Created in 1810 and completed in 1853 on the orders of Napoleon III, the alley aimed to reproduce the perspective of Schönbrunn near Vienna, the summer palace of the Austro-Hungarian dynasty of which Marie Louise, the wife of the Emperor was issue. The path ends with a hillock with a splendid view of the forest and the imperial castle in the background. The view of the forest and the imperial castle is splendid!
