The site comprises remains of stone structures, including talayots, which were probably used for defensive, residential or ceremonial purposes.
It is estimated that the town was occupied during the Bronze Age, between the 9th and 2nd centuries BC, although some vestiges indicate a later occupation during the Roman era.
Torretrencada has been the subject of archaeological investigations since the beginning of the 20th century, with excavations that have revealed information about the life and culture of the prehistoric inhabitants of Menorca.
