This is a great spot to see the Granite Dells rock formations by the water. These huge boulder piles were created from ancient granite formed 1.4 billion years ago. Over time, weathering and erosion broke the granite into rounded boulders and odd-shaped rock piles.

If you feel that the hike did not give you enough time to admire Watson Lake's incredible rock formations, you can sit at the picnic tables nearby. They provide a perfect spot to relax with a snack or lunch while taking in the amazing backdrop of the Granite Dells.

The western bank of Watson Lake is home to piles of Granite Dells. These massive boulders jut out of the water and from the shore, offering views the entire time you run along the edge of the reservoir. With multiple trails, a wide grassy area, and a handful of picnic tables, Watson Lake Park is popular for a number of recreational users.
