This segment will take you from the site of the old Renishaw Central Railway Station and along the Cuckoo Way towards Staveley. A lot of clearing has been done by the Chesterfield Canal Trust on the first part of this walk in preparation for further restoration. Following the path of the Chesterfield Canal you'll pass over the River Doe Lea as you near Lowgates.
You'll then follow the signed route onto the Trans Pennine Trail back to Renishaw. You could extend the route slightly to visit Staveley Town Basin, the current end point of the restored Chesterfield Canal.
