Fascinating natural landscape emerged in the last cold period. The partly wooded, partly rocky cliffs of the gorge are up to 75 m high and consist of conglomerate rock. A characteristic of the Sihlsprung are the Nagelfluhbrocken in and next to the river bed, some of which are several cubic meters in size. The upper gorge entrance of the Sihlsprung is about 200 m away from the restaurant "Sihlmatt" (Menzingen). The lower section can be walked on either side thanks to a bridge, with the left-bank path going through a 170 m long tunnel, but a forest path also goes over it. I tried both 😊. Sure-footedness in rain, snow and thaw.
