This beautiful, if now quite lifeless crowned oak, is considered a symbol of the Jemmeritzer. It is fenced in and has a pretty wooden information board. This crown oak is a natural monument.

On the website jemmeritz-altmark.de you will find the following poem by Dr. Wilfried Schielke:

It stands in the meadow,
in the "old" Jemmeritz,
the most magnificent of the oaks,
she braves storm and lightning.

The old oak is turning green
here for a thousand years
and has been for eons
the villagers' pride and grace.

It has the "old" lady
probably already seen some things
she saw French coming
and Russians go again.

She saw people laughing
their arguing and understanding,
she saw that we were coming
and go again soon.

She stands as a silent witness
here bony, proud and broad.
