A small lake in the Bockwitz nature reserve bears the name "Harald Krug". This is to commemorate the Groitzsch conservationist and bird expert, who died in October 2016.Between the Bockwitzer See east of Borna and the Harthsee near Neukirchen there is a small body of water that looks almost like a nose on maps: 33 hectares in size, maximum water depth 5.90 meters and only flooded by the groundwater rise, breeding area for great reed warblers, marsh harriers and little grebes as well as a resting place for Nordic geese in winter.

A kind of shelter was built here not too long ago, from which you have a very nice view of part of the lake.
With seating that invites you to linger.
A stone with a plaque is reminiscent of Harald Krug.
