As of April 2024, I can't quite agree with Bernd. We walked barefoot from Vila Christina to the city, which was very possible. The beach in front of Vila Christina hardly has any rocks. There are a few more at the TUI complex. There were no pebbles at all, but I also heard that sand had been piled up.

What was worse was that there were around 20 dead dolphins on the coast of this beautiful beach (in front of the large TUI complex). A very sad sight.

If one of these white-mouthed dolphins is sick, it probably swims to the coast, unfortunately the whole clan follows it and then also dies, they don't accept help either but keep swimming to the coast. A tragic spectacle that already took place in 2019 with over 160 animals.
