Tower built in 1960 to ensure sufficient water pressure in the Kister pipes. The tower is 30 m high and there are 155 steps to the observation floor. Unfortunately, the great view can only be enjoyed very rarely.

In the mid-1950s, many Kister houses often lacked the necessary water pressure. On days with high water consumption, and in the upper village, the water supply was insufficient.
In cooperation with the Bavarian State Office for Water Supply and Water Protection
      and an engineering firm from
Nuremberg, a solution was found: the construction of a water tower.
      CONSTRUCTION
Otto Seubert, former Kister mayor, reported on the positive negotiations regarding the land acquisition for the necessary tower site at the
      municipal council meeting on
March 14, 1959. On January 30, 1960, the building application was submitted to the municipal council for approval.
The contract for the execution of the work was
      approved on March 5, 1960.
The contract was awarded to a Munich company at the bid price of 249,472.28 Deutsche Marks (DM).

        TECHNICAL DATA
The visible height of the water tower is
        30.40 m. The
basement is located below ground at a depth of 2.50 m. This contains the
gate valve, water meter, supply line, check valve, and various elbows. The water tower is
        divided into 7 floors.
The external dimensions range from 7.00 m (ground floor) to 9.75 m (observation floor). The exterior walls are made of 0.49 m thick reinforced concrete. The
ceiling between the service floor and the
tank floor is 0.60 m thick. The tower stands on
        a 3.00 m wide and 0.80 m thick reinforced concrete ring foundation.
The water chamber is located at a height of
        20.30 m and has a capacity of 150 m³.
The water tank has a total height of 7.35 m
and is fed with water via an insulated 100 gauge pipe.

The tank level and the observation level are lined with 0.60 cm thick copper plates.

155 steps lead from the ground floor up to the observation level in a spiral staircase. From here,
a magnificent view of Kist opens up.

In the evenings, the water tower draws attention with the
blue lighting of the observation level.
