In Saltburn by the Sea you can park your bike for a moment and take a walk on the pier, which opened in 1869. It is 208 meters long and offers you a spectacular view of the beach and the North Sea.

On the way back to the shore, your view will be of the cliffs of Saltburn by the Sea and the Saltburn Cliff Lift installed there. This is a water ballast railway that has been in operation since 1885 and will take you up the cliffs if you don't want to miss the view from up there.

Wonderful fish and chips from three takeaways, one of which "Seaview" has an extremely good restaurant. All close to the pier. Plenty more eateries up in the town including Thai and Indian restaurants.
