Beautiful lake. The lap is also pleasant and quick to run. Whether for a short hike, after a meal in the coffee shop, to play in the playground or for a swim.

The lake was created in 1846 when the construction of a dam ensured the fresh water supply of the nearby Holzappel pit. The Herthasee is thus an artificial lake. The lake has been called Herthasee since 1907; previously it was called Wackerhannes or Wackerhans pond.
