A fantastically beautiful way to the uniquely beautiful town of Collioure. Best to do this early in the morning as Collioure tends to get crowded after 11am.

Wonderful trail along the coast, I recommend!

The coastal path, from Argelès-sur-Mer to Cerbère, extends over 32 kilometers and allows you to discover a number of coves, capes, beaches and villages.
Being also bordered by the road, countless variations are possible depending on the starting point and the objective.
The path allows you to discover among others: Le Racou, Collioure, Port Vendres, Banyuls, Cap Béar, Cap Peyrefite, Cap Oullastrell, Cerbère as well as many beaches including the magnificent beach of Paulilles.

Nice view, some exercise, hike with a few somewhat difficult passages... but worth it. No "slippers" but sturdy shoes recommended. Good, sturdy sneakers also work.

The Südwall served the German occupiers until 1943 as a defensive post to ward off the Allies. To this day, the remains of bunkers, fortresses and shooting ranges can be seen along a length of 864 kilometers (French Mediterranean coast from the Spanish border to the Italian border).
Here you can find a few remnants of this defense system on the section.

The path from Racou to Collioure along the coast is definitely an experience not to be missed. In summer, preferably not at lunchtime ----usually too hot 🔥

This is the "must" hiking trail for all nature lovers among the tourists in the region....always recommended....beware of a storm....sure-footedness required 🥾,,,,please no slippers 🙈
