"Here at this point stood the 'Alte Stettbacher Backhaus' from around 1820 to the mid-1950s. The bakery belonged to the neighboring Metzger estate, opposite the half-timbered house. For a fee, the people of Stettbach could have their bread baked here.

On the occasion of the 600th anniversary of Stettbach in 2020, the redesign of the village center was tackled on the initiative of the fire brigade association and many Stettbach citizens. Until then, the site was used as a garbage collection point, which significantly devalued the center and the entire townscape. The idea came up to build a 'New Bakehouse' on the historic square and directly on the Stettbach. With its wood-burning oven, it was to become the focal point of the village community and, in addition, be freely available to the many hikers and cyclists as a resting place.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 3, 2020 and completion at the end of June 2021. The project was realized almost exclusively through donations, grants and personal contributions."
