The trail climbs the final section of the Iraule Vertical Kilometer, marked with red dots on the mountainside and the beech forest. The slope is very high and the firm technical. In reality there is no path, simply the trace of the runners and hikers. The marks ascend directly through the beech forest to a channel that culminates in a gap and leads to the top of Iraule on the west slope. Below are the beautiful fields of Urbia and the immensity of the Basque mountains. In the Iraule the crossing of the Aizkorri crest begins in the opposite direction of the Zegama marathon. The trace is clear in the calcareous lapiaz and there are also yellow stripes painted on the rocks.

The first peak is Aitxuri (1,551 m), the top of the massif, and shortly after it is Aketegi (1,548 m), with its summit and sculpture. The crossing jumps over a gap, ascends Aitzabal (1,518 m) and reaches Aizkorri (1,523 m), the most popular peak in the mountain range, a mythical peak and an extraordinary balcony. In a hollow of the peak is the hermitage of Santo Cristo and next to it a mountain refuge with capacity for ten or twelve people. As soon as the descent begins, the descent of the Senda del Calvario exits to the left, marked with yellow dots, directly towards the Santi Spiritu hermitage without going through the San Adrián tunnel.
