The Buysesmolen, or Molen Ter Rijst, is a corn mill that stands on a spot where a windmill has stood since the 13th century. The mill was owned by the Norbertine Abbey in Ninove for a long time. In 1839 it came into the possession of the Buyse family, who sold the mill to the Belgian state in 1975.
On July 14, 1976, the mill collapsed due to wood rot. The mill parts were stored and the stake remained standing. The Buyses mill was restored in 2007-2008 and the mill was festively put into operation on August 15, 2009.
The mill is in working order and can be visited on Sundays and open monument days.
