The history of this place dates back to the Quinta de Valrodrigo, a farmhouse that the Duke of Arco, Alonso Manrique de Lara y Silva, acquired in 1717. The Duke built a house whose layout was reminiscent of the Zarzuela Palace, designed by the architect Juan Gómez de Mora.
