The Iramendi txabolas are like a lighthouse on the mountain range that marks the hydrographic separation of the Cantabrian and Mediterranean basins. On one side of the path is the artamugarri or cairn of the Sel de Larrebil 2 and then the Larrebil. The stones have inscriptions that indicate distances and limits between the seles or mountain pastures in the Basque mountains. The path follows the yellow marks through the Iramendi pass and begins the ascent through a beech forest. In the background, the reliefs of Aralar and Txindoki stand out.

The route follows a natural itinerary through the mountain range towards the port of Atabarrate. On the wooded slopes there are hunting posts and steep slopes. Before beginning the final ascent of the pass, the landmark of the cave of Atabarrate or Artzan Zulo Adana (valley/hole/shepherd) appears, a small cavity in the limestone slope of the forest. Attention to the deviation of the trail. Local trail markings climb the stony path towards the Atabarrate pass and the route veers to the right one hundred meters after the cave. The trail is well marked with the yellow dots. A hard and technical climb begins through corridors of beech trees, rocks and very steep slopes.
