The church of St. Paulus dates from around 1663. It is the oldest preserved round building in Anhalt. The church is a so-called timber-frame construction: it has no load-bearing wall, the entire load rests on the vertically erected beams (posts). Due to the weakness of the building, a separate bell tower was built in 1707.

Nice little village church. Unfortunately too.

The simple half-timbered church with the unique oval floor plan was built in the 17th century by Prince Wilhelm von Anhalt-Bernburg-Harzgerode, who also had the village built at the current location. He appointed a Dutch architect to build the church, who had the wooden frame construction, which is rare today, performed.
