Here in the middle of the open field, there is almost nothing left of the hustle and bustle that prevailed here a hundred years ago. Exactly at this point there was a corner station, which connected three large operating sites. As on the other side of the valley, thorough soil investigations were carried out here in 1873-74 and an ore field almost a kilometer long was identified through exploratory shafts. The wash ore deposit was up to 6 m thick.
Beneath it was a compact lump ore deposit almost a meter thick. For technical or proprietary reasons, the field was mined in three pits.
On the other side of the road from Ilsdorf to Klein-Eichen was the Dorothea-Elisabeth mine. On this side of the road, directly behind this information board, is the Salary Pit. In the extension in the direction of Flensungen, the Emil pit.
