Accessible only on foot, it's worth the hike to visit this large and impressive hermitage at the bottom of the Vorotan Gorge. When I last visited, I met a single hermit-in-residence growing herbs and tomatoes in the courtyard.

The monastery complex from the 17th century with a three-aisled church in the center served as a secluded retreat for hermits. Today even a priest lives again as a true hermit in this grassy, picturesque ruin.
