The Roman fort Abusina, located directly at today's Eining (a district of Neustadt an der Donau), is one of the most important military sites on the Bavarian Limes. It was initially built as a timber-earth fort under Emperor Trajan (around 80 AD) and later expanded in stone. It was continuously occupied by Roman troops for over 300 years.
