New Metropolis is an annex of the Pakhuis de Zwijger debate center. It wanted to be present in Nieuw West precisely because this district is undergoing the most development in the coming years. Here, local residents can come together to discuss important themes such as housing, education, social safety and care. "They try to give young people, entrepreneurs, culture makers and professionals from the neighborhood a stage."

Hiking
Due to the major changes in Nieuw-West, Pakhuis de Zwijger decided to open a branch here in 2018. Talk shows are made about the neighborhood, clay workshops are given, there is podcast equipment and a dark room for analog photography. But above all, anyone who wants to do something for the neighborhood is welcome here. 'The collaboration is so important. At New Metropolis, some neighborhood initiatives can become larger because there are cameras here, for example.'
