The Facade of the Palazzo della Regione facing east, towards Piazza Garibaldi, has a fresco painted in 1588 which has as its theme the defeat of Crassus against the Parthians, 9 June of the year 53 BC, near the city of Carre (today Harran, in Upper Mesopotamia Turca) between the army of the Roman Republic commanded by the Roman General Marco Crassus and the Parthian army commanded by the Iran Spahbod Surena.
