This beautifully designed shrine is reminiscent of Anna Schaller, who died in 1938. Marterl and field crosses along the way were points of pause and prayer, some stand at the scene of an accident, others to commemorate the deceased. Even today, there are still a striking number of them, restored in exemplary fashion, along the country lanes.
