Bad Segeberg looks back on more than 850 years of eventful town history. Stimulated by the monk Vicelin, Emperor Lothar III. Build the Siegesburg on the top of the Kalkberg in 1134. A church and a monastery were built at the foot of the mountain. Today the St. Marienkirche stands here.
With a total height of 133 meters, the telecommunications tower of Deutsche Telekom AG in reinforced concrete is the tallest building in Bad Segeberg.
