Road cycling
With the Mittelland Canal you cross the longest artificial waterway in Germany. It connects the Dortmund-Ems Canal with the Elbe and the Elbe-Havel Canal. Even at the time of the GDR, work was being carried out on both sides of the border on this canal. After reunification, the expansion was pursued as part of the "Transport Project German Unity No. 17".
