The Villa Oeverberg Castle Museum is located on an atmospheric street with luxurious mansions on the Maas side. The magnificent house was built in 1870/1872 by the last noble resident of Burg de Keverberg, Baron Frits. This eccentric gentleman wanted to escape the loneliness of his large castle and therefore had this villa built. He lived here for six more years until his death in 1876.

Villa Oeverberg in Kessel was built between 1870 and 1872 for Frederik Hendrik Charles van Keverberg, the last resident of Keverberg Castle in Kessel. Baron Frits lived there until his death in 1876.

Villa Oeverberg is located on a steep Maas terrace. The rear facade offers a beautiful view of the Maas. The former lord of the castle of Kessel had his new house built in the castle style. The house clearly shows the influence of English neo-Gothic. This style is quite rare in the Netherlands.

The castle garden was largely sold and built on later. A small part of the original garden remains with a circular driveway on the Veersepad. The villa has a rectangular floor plan. The building has four floors. The bel-etage is located above the basement. The entrance is reached via a monumental staircase. The battlements are striking, behind which there is a slightly sloping hipped roof.

The facades of the main building of the Oeverberg in Kessel are symmetrical. The windows on the bel-etage are the largest. They decrease in height on the upper floors. In the fifties of the twentieth century, a two-storey conservatory was added to the rear. In 1964, architect J.J. Rijs from Venlo modernised the building.
