Information:
In its middle reaches, the Spargrundbach stream flows through a valley section with steep slopes, where it also forms the municipal boundary between Dohna and Müglitztal.
With its hiking trails, it is one of the recreational areas surrounding the town of Dohna in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district. The 37.3-hectare nature reserve is located within the Müglitztal Natura 2000 site. The Spargründe and Sürßengrund valleys form deeply incised valleys on the northern edge of the Elbe Slate Mountains.
