This description (as of 05/2018) concerns both the Mayan ruins of Dzibanché and the temple complex Kinichná. The two facilities are located approximately 2 km from each other and can be visited with the ticket purchased for 60 pesos per adult. By car you drive from Chetumal a good hour (about 75-80 km).
We leave early with the rental car and were shortly after 08:00 clock on the "inlet". Open are the ruins from 08:00 - 17:00 clock, early appearance secures as always the best seats (say, there is hardly anyone there and the sun is not quite as strong). Lo and behold, we had the entire facility for ourselves - it was fantastic.
The "inlet", a small house with toilets, Wi-Fi and very nice Mexicans is centrally located between the two plants. You can decide to leave the car already here or drive directly to the ruins. Those who only want to see the facilities need about 2 hours for Dzibanché and about 30 minutes for the temple in Kinichná. If you have a little more time, you can enjoy the mystical moments (especially in the early morning). You can climb up to the temples and enjoy the magnificent distant view. Both facilities are very nice, but the real tourist run is not here yet (just good) - just a little insider tip for Komoot users. There are no flyers or maps of the facilities on site. Directly at the entrance to the ruins of Dzibanché there is a plaque with a suggested route and the names of the temples, at the individual temples there are information boards embedded in the ground (multilingual).
It does not require any special equipment except sunscreen, sunglasses and lots of water.
Have fun and great moments.
