I call this area "the savannah" because suddenly, coming out of the woods, you find yourself pedaling in the middle of clearings dotted with tall trees and if it's hot you notice the difference. Then at the end of the savannah the path makes a sharp detour and stops on a corner overlooking the river that flows between high banks below. A wonderful observation point
