Torcal de Antequera, probably the most spectacular karstic landscape in Europe. A beautiful landscape to discover through its trails.

El Tornillo del Torcal is a striking rock formation in the El Torcal de Antequera Natural Park in the Andalusian province of Málaga. The name "El Tornillo," which means "the screw" in Spanish, aptly describes the spiral shape of the rock, reminiscent of a screw thread. The formation is made of limestone that formed approximately 150 million years ago in the Jurassic period. Thousands of years of karst erosion—the dissolution of the limestone by rainwater, wind, and temperature fluctuations—gave the rock its characteristic shape.

Due to its exceptional geological significance, El Tornillo was declared a natural monument by the Junta de Andalucía in 2001. It is located amidst an impressive karst landscape typical of the El Torcal Natural Park. This region is known for its bizarre, tower-like rocks and its rich flora and fauna, including wild goats, birds of prey, and numerous endemic plant species. El Tornillo is considered the park's landmark and is a popular destination for cyclists, photographers and nature lovers.
