Nestled at 5,400 feet into the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness, Louis Lake is often snow covered into late spring or early summer. Since you might have to ford Louis Creek to get to the lake, the best season to hike is between July and August. You can also bring a fishing rod to cast in the lake.
