Follow the trail through a dense forest consisting of pacific silver fir, subalpine fir, and mountain hemlock and up to the beautiful Blue Lake. It is just a few more minutes up to the summit of Dock Butte to gain a 360 degree view of Mount Baker and the numerous peaks in the vicinity. You can imagine that this was once a location of a fire lookout tower that was destroyed in the early 1960s.
