The Mauensee is located on the edge of the Wauwilermoose, near Lake Sempach. The lake is fed by several small streams, drained over the Ron. On an island lies the beautiful castle Mauensee, which can be reached via a bridge. Swimming and fishing is unfortunately prohibited in Lake Mauensee.

Mauensee is always worth a visit. It is a cozy short circular walk around Lake Mauensee. Good waterproof shoes are recommended because the soil is sometimes quite moist. The castle itself can not be visited as it is privately owned.
