The town of Albertaich lies on an early medieval trade route between Wasserburg and Traunstein. The small settlement, first mentioned in documents in 1160, is characterized by its exposed location and especially by the high baroque church tower. Until the local government reform in 1972, Albertaich was a separate municipality. The now larger place Frabertsham belonged to Albertaich. The Church of St. James is a branch church of the parish of Obing.
