Around 1319 the fortifications in the vicinity of the Fischertor are already mentioned in documents. Rebuilt several times, reinforced and besieged during the Thirty Years' War. The fisherman's gate was demolished in 1870 - what remained was the fisherman's bastion with its imposing gun emplacements. Nice view over the port facilities. 🚢📷👍

So I wouldn't recommend it at all, especially with a racing bike. Not properly paved upwards, the view is nice, but from there you only have to stop at traffic lights before you can continue. Otherwise the average will drop here...

From the "Fischerbastion", part of the historic ramparts, the view extends over the Warnow and the city harbor.
This former fortification, which is up to eleven meters high, was reworked with wide paths and clear lines of sight from the point of view of monument preservation and is now one of the most popular vantage points in Rostock.
