Hiking
Although it is of glacial origin, Lake Ballano was dammed in the 1930s and since then its waters have been exploited for the production of electricity in the Rigoso hydroelectric power plant. Like the nearby Verde lake dam, however, at the moment the Ballano dam has structural problems and the lake's capacity is increasing again only in recent times, after renovation works.
