The Tierpark Lange Erlen finances the 4000CHF/day maintenance solely through donations. Admission is free for everyone. Parking directly in front of the entrance is restricted and costs CHF 1.50 per hour or part thereof for the first 2 hours, then CHF 2.50 per hour or part thereof (card payment possible).
The park invites you to observe animals with highlights such as lynxes and wild cats.

There are ponies, donkeys, waterfowl, storks, deer, bison, woolly pigs, goats, monkeys, eagle owls, wild birds and, as a highlight, even lynx and wildcats.

The park is also very family friendly with a large playground.

The animal park in the Lange Erlen is located in the city of Basel and covers an area of around 20 hectares in the Lange Erlen riverside forest on the southern bank of the Wiese river. The animal park and its sponsoring association, the Erlen Association, were founded in 1871 by enterprising Basel residents. The park has around 450 trees - from red beech to giant sequoia. The animal park is freely accessible during the day.
The animal park specializes in keeping native animals and is a valuable addition to the Basel Zoo.
