The monastery BrunshausenThe former Brunshausen Monastery was founded in the 9th century as a Benedictine convent. It experienced a varied history as nunnery and monastic monastery and Protestant convent.Today, there is a museum on the history of Brunshausen and the Gandersheim Abbey in the monastery church and parts of the monastery building. But not only the museum invites you to linger. In the rooms of Kunstkreis Brunshausen there are regular exhibitions of regional artists, lectures and workshops. Two cafes with their culinary offer are also to be found in the historic buildings as seminars of the wood crafts and a shop with selected wooden tools and exquisite whiskeys from the Harz.Numerous events, from jazz to various exhibitions, have made the Brunshausen Monastery known beyond the region.
