Fort De Soto Park is a beautiful park on five offshore islands: Madelaine Key, St. Jean Key, St. Christopher Key, Bonne Fortune Key, and the main island, Mullet Key. The park is accessible by a toll road from the mainland and offers a variety of activities, including fishing on the Gulf Fishing Pier, which stretches over 1,000 feet. The park also features beaches, picnic areas, hiking and biking trails, a kayak trail, and a ferry to Egmont Key State Park. Open year-round, the pier is a popular spot for birdwatching and dolphin-watching. It’s free to fish on the pier, and there are tables with running water to clean your catch.
