A gem! Geologically, there are meager arches here (gravel, quicksand and drifting sand), so agriculturally only sheep and goat husbandry was possible here. From 1880 it was the parade ground for the hussar regiment stationed in Grossenhain. In 1956, the NVA took over the area as a tank training ground. The tanks tore up the ground, making it even thinner. Ideal conditions for the heathland. Freed from military contamination in the early 1990s, the Kleinraschützer Heide is now a biotope.
