    Here and Now, N:48* 38´ 24´´, 0:8* 58´ 54´´, 2017, stainless steel, Ernst Günter Herrmann.

"Ernst Günter Herrmann comes from an architectural background, but stages his filigree sculptures that elude the masses as the opposite - as an inversion of urban space projects. This goes down to the last detail: 10-15mm thick steel plates are cut freehand to create the To give the contour a handwritten individuality that stands out from any serial character - this is again intended by the semi-finished production. Herrmann welds the cut rods together to form frames that can have a side length of 20cm to around 5m. In some cases he adds several frames for installation purposes into each other. The sculptor says: "Since the volumes of my work are only indicated in their contour, the amount of material used and consequently the weight of the sculptures is minimal compared to their dimensions. The latter not only makes their handling easier, but is an essential aspect of my work and enables their presence in extreme and inaccessible places." Recycling and storage are taken into account in terms of the process, as are the aesthetics of presentation and preservation: "Every working day is comprehensible and manifests the aesthetics of my work Work. On granite rocks on the seashore, floating between trees and over the water, on roof terraces that are difficult to access or rooms in multi-story buildings. Depending on the size, as a companion in flight luggage or on photo trips in the car or on hikes in the mountains." With this, Herrmann moves away from the classic concept of plastic, which is particularly true for its position in the landscape. Nature gives him an alternative space that extends over and over communicated through the sculpture. In addition, the artist includes the light, the fluctuation in the wind or the changing shadow drawing."

"Here and Now" by Ernst Günter Herrmann
Delicate metal floats against the sky – a sculpture like a thought: fleeting, open, meditative. An airy pause for mind and camera.
