The Laubeshütte (830 m above sea level) was originally called "Laufshütte". The name is derived from the "hunter language". A barrel is a fenced-in place in a main hunt where the shooting takes place.
There is not much to see of the forester's house with outbuildings today. You can reach the Laubeshütte after just under a kilometer from the skier monument car park near Ernstthal, or 2.5 km from the Berggasthof Brand car park.
