The Montorfano peak can be reached from the Fondotoce station area, or from the road that connects Gravellona to Mergozzo. To enjoy a nice run I recommend climbing from the station side and going up to the town of Montorfano, as it is a very bumpy and less enjoyable path to do downhill. The part between Polveriera and Lake Mergozzo is a horrible farm road that connects to the Azzuro path that closes the ring.
