The name of Lake Kir comes from the famous eccentric mayor of Dijon who exercised this function in the 1960s. Canon Kir, in addition to having given his surname to this very beautiful artificial lake, and also the inventor of the aperitif Kir: a mixture Aligoté white wine and blackcurrant liqueur. It was a dam on the Ouche River that created this lake. It is a place of relaxation for all Dijonnais.
